VIRTUAL LEARNING FOR STUDENTS
Teachers will provide students with a virtual learning assignment that is content-specific and relevant beginning March 16, 2020 until further notice. Each assignment will be aligned to the standards and what the students are currently learning. Assignments may involve reading, writing, conducting research, performing mini labs, completing practice problems, taking notes, and/or answering questions. Virtual learning access will be made available to students in grades 1-12 through VERGE.

Please continue to visit the school district's website for current information.

MEAL SITES DURING COVID-19 SCHOOL CLOSURE
Beginning Monday, March 30, 2020, DCSD will transition to a modified meal service plan. Under the new plan, meals will be distributed on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Meals will no longer be delivered daily.  Students will receive a two-day meal package on each Monday, Wednesday, and Friday as shown below:

Meal Distribution Days
Monday: 2 Lunch Meals & 2 Snacks (for Mon/Tues)
Wednesday: 2 Lunch Meals & 2 Snacks (for Wed/Thur)
Friday: 2 Lunch Meals & 2 Snacks (for Fri/Sat)

The 21 meal distribution sites will remain operational and the bus meal delivery will continue following the amended plan of meal service on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.

On Friday, April 3, 2020, students will receive five (5) days of meals in addition to their Friday meal. This will ensure that our students have food during the week of April 6-10, 2020.

Meal Distribution Sites:
Region I - Cross Keys HS and Sequoyah MS and John Robert Lewis ES
Region II - Idlewood ES and Tucker MS and Avondale ES
Region III - Lithonia HS and Marbut ES and Stephenson MS
Region IV - Clarkston HS and Jolly ES and Freedom MS
Region V - Chapel Hill MS and Narvie J Harris ES and Miller Grove MS
Region VI - Bethune MS and Canby Lane ES and Peachcrest ES
Region VII - McNair MS and McNair MS and Early Learning Center and Cedar Grove ES

DCSD will also use buses to deliver ‘grab and go’ bags directly to students in the community beginning March 23, 2020.

The Atlanta Food Bank will partner with the District during the week of March 23rd and provide food distribution at the following existing meal sites: Sequoyah MS, Jolly ES, Idlewood ES, Chapel Hill MS, and the Dekalb Early Learning Center.
