The Druid Hills Gay-Straight Alliance (GSA) brings youth together to raise tolerance and awareness of different sexual orientations and gender identities. We believe everyone, regardless of their differences, deserves the chance to come to school and learn in a safe, harassment-free environment. The main goal for GSA is to create a place where gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and straight students can meet with their peers to promote education and community interaction to generate confidence and greater understanding. 

Meetings: Every Monday after school in 311A


Hispanic Honors Society

Sponsor: Sra. Valdez
 
Requirements to be a part of Hispanic Honors Society: Two years was/is in Spanish with A’s, clean discipline record, and a 3.0 GPA. Charity and volunteer work is done throughout the year. "Each has a candle in each of his/her hands. This typifies our course of life. Thus, without burning, it exists, but does not live. That candle is saying: 'If they burn me, I live; if not, I die.' May our lives never be candles unburned!"
 
Dues: The dues are $10 for returning members and $20 for new members.
 
Meetings: Every first Thursday of every month at 7:30am in room 114A

International Club

Sponsor: Ms. Salivia

Mission: To promote tolerance for difference in race, ethnicity and religion and to strengthen the unity in the international student community at Druid Hills High School. The International Club is a busy club at Druid Hills! Some of our activities include an International Teacher Breakfast, International Show, International Film Festival, Community Service Opportunities, School Supplies Drive, Field Trips and other fun events!

Dues: $15

Meetings: Meets every other Monday at 3:15 pm in room 116C

Model UN engages in an authentic simulation of the United Nations system by learning about the UN system, skills of debate, compromise, conflict resolution, and negotiation. Model UN team members have fun learning about the workings of world diplomacy through the lens of current events.

Dues: Dues per conference

Meetings: Before school (usually Tuesdays).
